We're Off to See the Wizard...

So it was dinner theatre night Wednesday evening. Sherrie fixed a tasty dinner (homemade chili for a chilly night), and the meal was followed by Allie's play - The Wizard of Oz. It wasn't a real surprise to me since she had been wearing her Dorothy dress (from Halloween '07) all afternoon, but Sherrie and I were surprised to find out that we would be participating in the performance. I drew a pretty good role (the Wizard). Sherrie was not so fortunate (the Witch). Jojo and some assortment of stuffed animals rounded out the cast. It was a lot of fun, and in the end the Wizard told Dorothy to close her eyes, tap her ruby slippers together, and make her wish. "There's no place like home," she said "...and make me a fairy princess, too."

Dorothy and Totos (more than one)

Dorothy recovers the broom of the Wicked Witch of the West (and liberates the flying monkeys)

Ding Dong the Witch is dead!

The cowardedly lion ("If I...were the King...of the Forrrrest!")

And last but not least the Tin Man. Sorry, but the Wicked Witch of the West melted before she could be photographed and the great and powerful Oz would not allow his picture to be taken.
