We have had a fun past few days. Allie's friend Lilly has been staying with us while her mom had surgery in Austin. We picked her up Wednesday evening after mission friends and kept her until 5:00 this evening. This is the first time she has been away from home so we have tried to keep her busy! Allie has enjoyed having a constant companion and they played well together. Our spare bedroom became 'Lilly's room.' They didn't go to sleep until around 10:30 p.m. Wed night and they were up bright and early (6:45 a.m.) Thursday morning ready to play and wanting pancakes! We played, went to the library, played outside for hours until dinner. Today, after playing with all the toys here, we headed to the Mayborn museum. We got to get a sneak peek at a new room they are opening next week- the tea party room. Allie has decided to have her birthday party there this year. The girls played outside until it was time to take Lilly to another family for a couple of days. Allie was so sad and both girls cried but we promised to keep Lilly some next week since it is spring break. It's amazing the conversations I overheard them having. For example: I heard Lilly telling Allie that her daddy can fix anything broken (they had been talking about Handy Manny). Allie didn't say anything for about a minute so I kept listening to see what she would say. Next I heard, "Well, my Papa can fix anything too and my Mommy keeps a list of things for him to fix when he comes!"

Pulling out all the toys!

Allie wanted to make a hopscotch game and I thought she did a great job!

Here is the girl she drew. She named her Amy and wrote her name above her head (in purple). The sun was so bright I couldn't see the picture on the camera and cut off her legs and almost missed her name.

Allie created scooter hopscotch

FINALLY! This is the first time Allie has been on her Barbie bike since she fell at Christmas. I had to coax her on it and then hold the seat and her hand before she regained her confidence.

Lilly was great at hopscotch

Drawing on the easel

Later I noticed that Allie had drawn a line down the 'middle' and wrote Lilly on one side and Allie on the other. How does she come up with this stuff??

blurry but a cute picture

storytime with daddy. Goodnight girls!

I just noticed the bedspread in the room with Allie, her friend and Justin. After all these years I still think it is pretty. Remember picking them out before college? I am glad yours is still in use - mine got thrown away - it didn't go with the machine theme of Will's room. Christy

Can you believe that I still have that? Allie used it until I bought her one. It's not in too bad a shape either! I don't know why Will wouldn't want it; Donovan, Autin, and Blake have slept underneath it! I even have the sheets too!
