Bye Bye Blake...

We enjoyed having Blake here with us for the month of June even though it was packed with Allie's activities!! He was a great sport sitting through dance class, rehearsal and recital, swim lessons, and playdates. The last week was just for him. He got to pick what he wanted to do. On Monday, we just ran errands, went to the library, grocery store and they played around the house (mostly on the new swingset!). On Tuesday, he wanted to go to Jumping Party. We got there right at 10 and we were the only ones for a while.

the look on their faces told me they were ready to go

After they tired of jumping, we went to Chick-fil-A for lunch and took a walk through Build-A-Bear. We also went to the pool that night. On Wednesday, we went to the library for story time and searched for Father's Day gifts (late) and a few birthday gifts (not exactly what Blake wanted to do but needed to be done). Thursday was the big day! Blake said he wanted to go to the pool and stay for 6 hours! We invited some friends to join us and ended up staying for 5 1/2 hours before I couldn't take the 106 degrees anymore! He loved every minute of it and made a couple of friends (one being a girl) at the pool.

After we finally left, I declared it pizza night while popping Tylenol to get rid of the headache from the heat. We loved having Blake come and live with us for a month and Allie was so sad to have it come to an end. Several people thought they were brother and sister but Blake was way too nice to Allie for them to be siblings! Allie was bossy and demanding and Blake always gave in to her. Finally on the last week he told her he did not want to see another Barbie movie! On the other hand, Allie did enjoy playing Indiana Jones. On the last day, Friday, we went to the pool that morning, came back, packed then headed to Arlington for the Rangers game (another post). We met my parents in Monroe, LA to return Blake to them then headed back to Waco. It was a sad ride back for Allie. I ended up sitting in the back and watching some Barbie movies with her. She even started crying when we put in a Go Fish cd to listen to (Blake and Allie liked to sing along and play with each other while listening). We just popped the cd out and Allie and I watched another movie. We still miss Blake but we can do it all again in a few months at Disney World!!
