Allie has started taking piano lessons at Baylor. She goes every Monday from 4-5 p.m. She is enjoying it and she loves playing the piano (just not practicing). She had her first recital on Oct. 25 and the students were able to wear their halloween costumes. She played 2 pieces and made no mistakes! We are so proud of her!!

October 2009 (catch up post)
October is always a fun month with lots of fall festival type activities. Although Texas has some fall activities, there is absolutely nothing that compares to picking apples in Ellijay, pumpkin farms, hayrides, corn maizes, and Dahlonega Gold Rush (including a caramel apple from the Fudge Factory).
Allie's Kindergarten class had a 'Fall party' on October 31 and they got to wear their costumes to school. Here is a picture of her class minus one child in the bathroom.

Allie partnered up with her friend Jack to wrap each other up as mummies at the party.

That evening, we headed to church for the fall festival there. We usually try to go early and leave early (jumping houses get very crowed later in the evening)

Allie loved riding the bull this year!

After leaving the fall festival at church, we hooked up with her best friend Lilly to do some trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. It actually got cold this evening and we had to dig for sweaters. (This should have been a clue to me that it would actually be cold this winter and that I should buy Allie a winter coat this year!! but I didn't and we suffered through it. Haven't needed a heavy coat the last 3 years!)

Kindergarten Graduation
It's a little bit overwhelming trying to figure out how to start the blog again so I think I will begin with the present and throw in some old posts in between.
On June 3rd, 2010, Allie graduated from Kindergarten at age 5. She was so excited. After graduation all five classes put on a program. Allie never told us, but she had a speaking part in the program and smiled with pride as she did her part. We were so proud of her!! I can't believe Kindergarten is over. She did a super job all year!

Misc.
One of Allie's favorite things to do is to sing, especially in church. This picture is from last Sept. (still getting caught up)
As I was headed out the front door this is what I found curled up right next to the door mat. I almost stepped on it. Of course, these pictures are the after (after Justin used the shovel to kill it and throw it in the trash).

Last Day in the World...Epcot
Our last day at Disney World wasn't as fast paced as the others. We actually went to breakfast on this morning since it was beginning to rain a little. We headed to Epcot to ride and see things we didn't have time for the other day. Of course, we rode Soaring again along with Test Track. We took in a few shows and rode Spaceship Earth before heading to World Showcase. We tasted some great desserts in France, enjoyed watching Chinese acrobats, used the restrooms in Germany and rode the Maelstrom ride in Norway. The week really started catching up with the kids as Blake and Allie snoozed through several countries. After our last time for shopping we headed to the Grand Floridian for dinner at 1900 Park Fare. It was a shame to be in such a nice hotel when we had been in the rain all day and were not looking our best but Blake and Allie had fun seeing different characters. I think we were all tired of the princesses by this time.
As soon as we walked into Epcot Daisy and Stitch were coming out to take pictures. We were first in line.

Allie was in a deep sleep but I woke her up for this picture.
hanging out in Germany
After watching the Chinese acrobats we walked out and there was Mulan. This was the day for characters with no lines! The light, constant rain helped with crowds too.

We headed back to our hotel after eating. We had tons of packing to do! We also had to be up by 6:00 a.m. to take the shuttle to the airport. We flew to Atlanta, said bye to Blake, then headed on to Texas. It was good to be back home. I think everyone was exhausted but it was a wonderful trip.
