Mother's Day!

I had a wonderful Mother's Day. After church Justin took us to 135 Prime which is my favorite place to eat salmon. Allie was not as impressed with the place like we are! Allie gave me a gift certificate to the Spa at Canyon Oaks. Can't wait to use that! We came home, took a little nap then headed to the lake with our homegroup friends. We had a great time and Allie just can't get enough water and mud. Will Coffey would be so proud of her! Thanks to John and Libbie for the use of their 4 wheeler, tent, grill, and everything else. We had a great time.

Bowling Allie

Last Friday night Justin decided we would eat pizza at one of our favorites, Rosati's, then head to the bowling alley. I haven't been to a bowling alley since we had lock ins when I was in the youth group. It actually was not as bad as I thought. I even put the shoes on all the way and tied them! It was fun watching Allie figure out how to carry her 6 lbs ball. We had them put the guard up which was really great! No gutter balls! After a few bowls we quickly realized that we were spoiled by having bowled on the wii. It is just not the same. I did manage to get a few strikes (thanks to the rails) and Justin did great too! Allie, well let's just say that after she let the ball go, you could go to the bathroom, get a drink, head back to our lane and make it before the ball got to the pins! She did get much better after 2 games. She still loved it and it was something different for us to do on Friday night.

Flying through the Sky!

Allie's favorite thing to do with Justin is to jump on the trampoline having him bounce her high above his head! She loves to do this right after dinner. She wanted me to take pictures and put them on the blog to show everyone. Also, she wanted to know if Aunt Laura did this with her friends in college? We just had to say, "Yes."

This always makes her happy! And of course, it has to be done in a dress up costume!

Before I do a Mother's Day post I need to get caught up some. Last Sunday, Allie's choir group sang in church for both services. She loves singing in the 'sanctuary' (as she likes to call it). They combined with Kindergarten choir to sing Amazing Grace and then they sang Noah's Arky by themselves. This was the last time for her to perform with the 4 year old choir. She did a super job!

I have Blaine, Caleb, and Preston's attention but Allie looks like she is either praising during song or she blinked!

Mother's Day Brunch at Preschool

Yesterday I was invited to Allie's preschool for a Mother's Day brunch. She was so excited that I was coming and couldn't wait to give me the gifts she had made. She picked out my clothes the night before telling me that she wanted me to wear a dress that twirled and that we should match! We had to bring our favorite dish so 'we' made a bacon and cheese quiche (Libbie, I have used that recipe SO many times! Thanks so much for giving it to me!). The tables were decorated with flower pots that the kids had made along with foam flowers that included a picture in the middle. Adorable. The preschoolers performed some songs that they had practiced. I was proud that Allie was able to sing along even though she missed all last week due to strep throat. I loved the gifts that were made. Allie had to tell all of my favorite things and she did a great job. She knows me pretty well! It was a fun morning and I enjoyed spending it with Allie! (With my new camera I can't seem to upload the videos. Maybe after the t-ball game today Justin can figure it out! She did a great job singing)

ShareFest Waco

This past Saturday we participated in Sharefest Waco. Sharefest is a community wide event where area churches join together to serve and share God's love with the community. After Allie's T-ball game we met up with the group at Estella Maxie apartment complex to paint or plant flowers. Of course, Allie wanted to paint! We grabbed some brushes and paint and went with the Kennedy's to an area that hadn't been painted yet. I figured Allie would paint for about a few minutes and then be done but I was shocked and surprised at her stamina and determination to complete the job. We also painted with a little girl whose grandmother lived there. It was fun to serve and have Allie right along beside us. After painting for awhile, I went to the car and got the sidewalk chalk and bubbles that we had brought to play with. Caleb (Kennedy) and Allie wanted to invite the little girl we had met earlier to play with them. We knocked on her door and both kids asked if she could come out to play. We had talked with Allie about our reason for going and what we were going to do when we got there but to watch her in action made me smile. She shared with the kids there more than I have ever seen her share before and she always let the other kids go first. She helped with painting, drawing a hopscotch, and cleaning up. I knew she had to be tired but not once did she whine or complain. I was so proud of her! At the end of the day on the way to the car she said that she thought we were going to tell people about Jesus and that God loves them. I told her we did just not using words. We were headed to Chick-fil-A for some sweet tea when I turned around and saw that Allie was already in a deep sleep. I didn't get a chance to take pictures while we were working but when I saw her sleeping I had to capture it! It was a fun day!

Cubbie Awards

Last Sunday night was Awana Awards night. Allie completed all the requirements needed to receive her Cubbie award. Since last September she has been learning a Bible verse a week. We are so proud of her and all her hard work in learning all her verses and saying them to her teachers. She learned a total of 24 verses this year! 24 Bible verses that she has memorized and can quote on command. We continue to review them so that she won't forget them. Justin and I talk with her and teach her things about God but Cubbies has been a tremendous blessing to all of us! It continues to add to and reflect what we are teaching Allie at home. It's a wonderful program and I am so thankful our church provides it. She gets to move up next year to Sparks and she can't wait to get started!!
